Police were called to a Bayfield Street store with regards to a female that was stealing cosmetics and clothing. When she spotted a security officer, she bolted from the store and ran across Bayfield Street.
The security officer located the female in another store and arrested her. Police attended and continued the arrest. The female was in possession of approximately $500 worth of stolen merchandise.
The 47 year old Barrie female advised officers that she had ingested an unknown quantity of prescription medication. As a result police transported her to the hospital. When she was cleared by medical staff, she was released from custody with a future court date charged with theft under $5000 and failing to comply with a probation order.
