(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Wednesday February 16, 2011, Perth County OPP officers were called to an engine repair shop on Perth Line 72, east of Millbank where a pickup truck had just been reported stolen.
Investigation revealed that at approximately 10 a.m. a male suspect arrived at the shop driving a mini van. The male, had been at the shop on prior occasions with three other males to look at the pickup truck which the shop owner had for sale in a truck seller magazine. The male told one of the shops employees that he wanted to take the truck for a test drive. The employee gave him permission but when the suspect and truck did not return in the specified time period the shop employee became suspicious about the situation. The employee checked the van and discovered that the ignition was punched at which time the police were contacted. The van was found to have been stolen from the Waterloo Region area.
The stolen truck is a Red 1999 GMC Sierra pickup with an Ontario Licence plate of 2434ZL and a VIN # of 1GDJK34F2XF032479.
