Hit and run

On February 3, 2014 at 12:30 p.m., the Guelph Police were contacted about a pedestrian being struck in the parking lot of No Frills – 35 Harvard Road. Investigation alleges that a 79-year-old female exited her parked vehicle and was struck and knocked to the ground by a red van that was backing into a parking space. The driver of the van exited his vehicle and spoke to the female but then left before sharing any information. The involved female drove her vehicle to a family members before being taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. This incident happened between 12:15-12:30pm. The driver of the van was a man in his late 40’s, thin, approximately 5’9, believed to be of Italian descent as he spoke to the women involved in Italian.
