(ST.MARYS, ON) On Saturday February 19, 2011, at approximately 1 a.m. Perth County OPP officers in St.Marys were dispatched to a location in town where a suspicious person wearing dark clothing was checking unlocked vehicles.
Police arrived within minutes at the location of the suspicious person and observed two young males walking through a parking lot. When the youth saw the officers they ran, but after a short foot pursuit two thirteen year old youths were caught. Investigation revealed that the youths were just walking by the area and were not the suspicious person.
The youths were apprehended under the authority of the Child and Family Services Act since they were out between midnight and six a.m. The boy’s parents were awakened and they were handed over to their parents.
