(Ottawa) The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section is investigating a complaint of a sexual assault that occurred in the 100 block of Marquette Street in Ottawa on February 3, 2014 at approximately 1:00am.
That morning, a woman agreed to meet an unknown man in the area of Montreal Road and Marier Avenue. They proceeded to an address on Marquette Street where the victim was struck with an object, threatened and sexually assaulted.
The Ottawa Police Service is looking for information that can assist investigators with identifying the man responsible for this crime.
The male suspect is described as a white male, in his 40’s, husky build, shoulder length grey/white hair with a shorter grey/white beard. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt pulled over a baseball cap and black running shoes.
The suspect’s description does present similarities with the male suspect description involved in a sex assault on December 27, 2013.
In light of these incidents, the Ottawa Police is asking women, particularly those involved in the sex trade, to be vigilant and exercise good safety practices.
