The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a youth for failing to comply with his probation order.
Around 12:20 a.m. this morning, police responded to the area of Victoria Avenue in Chatham in regards to a suspicious male trying to get into peoples’ vehicles. A description of the male was provided to police. Officers located and apprehended the male following a short foot pursuit on Elizabeth Street. Through investigation, the officer learned that the male youth was currently bound by a probation order and that he was failing to comply with a curfew and alcohol related conditions.
The 16-year-old Chatham youth was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply. He was released pending a future court date.
