(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Tuesday evening March 08, 2011, Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to a rural home on Line 29 south of Stratford where homeowners returning from vacation discovered their residence broken into.
Investigation revealed that sometime between February 27 and March 08 unknown person(s) forced open the rear door of the residence and gained entry into the home. A large number of items were removed including two laptop computers, one desktop computer with a 23†monitor, a portable hard drive (Western Digital 1 terabyte), four watches (Bulova, Seiko and Timex, Jewellery and cash.
The Perth County OPP is requesting anyone who may have information about this theft or who knows the whereabouts of the above noted property to contact them at 1-888-310-1122 or to call CRIME STOPPERS at 1-800-222-8477.
They are also reminding homeowners to ensure that their homes have the “lived in look†while they are away. Have your home checked on a daily basis, and do not publicly advertise the fact that you are leaving your home unattended. Do however let your immediate, trustworthy neighbours know that you will be away so they can be your neighbourhood watch.
