(GEORGIAN BAY, ON) – On March 2, 2014 at 9:49 am, the Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report that a snowmobile had fallen through the ice while riding over Georgian Bay. Officers arrived to find the rider was lying on the ice, approximately 300 metres off the shoreline of Cypress Lake National Park.
Bruce Peninsula OPP, North Bruce Fire, Bruce County Paramedics and Parks Canada staff brought the man ashore where he was transported to hospital by Orange Air Ambulance. The 35 year old man from Innisfil is being treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
His snowmobile, a Black 2013 Arctic Cat, sank in the waters of Georgian Bay.
