(SOUTH BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – The South Bruce OPP is sending a reminder to area residents about the Grandparent phone scam that has been operating for years. On March 16th, 2011 at 10:00 am, a resident of Brockton received this call, also known as the Emergency scam. The call was recognized as a scam, which is the key. When you suspect the call is a scam, hang up the phone. It is very difficult for the police to recover your money from a fraudulent telemarketer, so be sure who you’re sending money to.
