(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – A suspended driver is now facing Drug Possession and Breach of Probation Order charges following a traffic stop on February 28, 2014. Shortly after 9:00 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a Toyota Tundra on Dungannon Road near River Mill Road for a Highway Traffic Offence.
Upon speaking with the female driver it was confirmed she held a suspended driver’s licence. She was placed under arrest and searched. Officers found the driver to be in possession of suspected crack cocaine and marihuana. Further checks revealed the driver was currently bound by conditions of a probation order.
She was taken into police custody and later released with a Promise to Appear.
Michelle ARMSTRONG, 35, from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine contrary to section 4(1) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana contrary to section 4(1) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Two Counts of Fail to Comply with a Probation Order contrary to section 733.1(1) Criminal Code
Drive While Under Suspension contrary to section 53(1) Highway Traffic Act
Fail to Have Insurance Card contrary to section 3(1) Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
Drive Motor Vehicle – No Validation on Plate contrary to section 7(1)(c (i) of the Highway Traffic Act
Fail to Surrender Permit for Motor Vehicle contrary to section 7 (5)(a) Highway Traffic Act
She has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on April 14, 2014.
