Assault with a weapon

On the 3rd of March 2014 at approximately 8am, Barrie Police responded to a call regarding a domestic dispute to the east end. Upon arrival officer’s were dealing with a male and female who were involved in a verbal argument after a night of alcohol consumption.
The female party was uncooperative during the police investigation and was being asked to leave the residence to prevent any further incidents from taking place. The female, who was the owner of a large dog, yelled out commands for her dog to attack the investigating officers. The dog became aggressive and lunged at the officers.
Officers were quickly able to control the dog. As a result of the command issued by the female she was arrested for assault with a weapon.
The female was held pending a bail hearing and her accomplice was taken to the pound for safekeeping.
