On the 3rd of March 2014 at approximately 6:38pm, the Barrie Police Service had to close both northbound and southbound traffic on Ferndale Drive South at Cumming Drive due to a motor vehicle accident. A vehicle left onto northbound Ferndale from Cumming collided with a southbound vehicle causing extensive damage to both vehicles. The 49 year old female driver of the southbound vehicle was taken to RVH with minor injuries. The 43 year old female driver of the turning vehicle was charged with careless driving.
