Theft

Police were notified by security officers at a Bayfield Street store with regards to a female that had taken $1500 worth of power tools.

When police investigated they learned that the Barrie female had distracted store cashier staff while her 8 year old child pushed the stolen tools out of the store to a waiting taxi. The female was arrested by store staff and the taxi took the children home to their father. Further investigation revealed that the same type of theft had occurred by the female at another store in Barrie.

The 34 year old female was already before the courts on theft charges and was held for bail on the new charges. Children’s Aid Society was notified of the incident.
