Man and Woman Charged with Break and Enter

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man and woman following a break and enter in Chatham yesterday.

Around 6:50 p.m. police responded to the area around Water Elite on St. Clair Street in Chatham in regards to two suspicious people. A detailed description of the pair was provided to police, however no one was located at this time. At approximately 10:20 p.m. an officer on general patrol observed a man and woman matching the description of the suspicious pair in the area of St. Clair Street. The officer stopped to investigate and found them to be in possession of stolen items from the Water Elite property.

A 40-year-old Chatham man has been charged with break and enter and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. A 37-year-old Chatham woman has been charged with break and enter, possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000 and drug possession. Both have been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
