Scott MCNAUGHTON – Drunk Driving, Cocaine

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Sunday March 16, 2014, shortly before 2 a.m. a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on routine patrol in Listowel observed a weaving car travelling west bound on Elizabeth St. West. The officer spoke with the driver of the car and determined that he displayed obvious signs of impairment.

The driver was arrested and transported to the North Perth OPP Detachment, where he failed two Intoxilyzer Breath tests. The driver was also found to be in possession of cocaine.

Scott MCNAUGHTON ((43) of the Municipality of North Perth has been charged with “driving while ability impaired”, and “Driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood” contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He has also been charged with “possession of a schedule I substance – cocaine” contrary to the controlled drugs and substances act of Canada. He will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Listowel on April 23, 2014 to answer to these charges.
