16 Year Old – 149 in a 80 Zone

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Tuesday April 05, 2011 around the noon hour, a Perth County OPP officer on patrol on Perth Road 107 South of Shakespeare observed an approaching north bound car at an extremely high rate of speed.
The officer activated the police radar and the car was locked in at 149 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. The car was pulled over and the 16 year old male driver from The Township of Perth East was summonsed to appear in Stratford Court to answer to the charge of “stunt driving”. He also received an immediate 7 day driver’s licence suspension. His vehicle was towed from the scene and has been impounded for a week.
