(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Tuesday morning April 05, 2011, an elderly Mitchell resident contacted the Perth County OPP reporting that someone had stolen a cement garden deer from their property.
Investigation indicated that sometime during the night between 10 p.m. Monday April 4th and 5 a.m. Tuesday April 5th a culprit took the deer from a flower garden of the victim’s residence along Huron Rd. and placed it by the curb. When the victim noticed the deer at the curb, a grandson was contacted to help lift the deer back to the flower garden. Before the grandson arrived an older red pickup truck which had its driver’s side window taped up stopped in front of the victims residence, when the truck pulled away the deer was observed in the back of the truck.
The Perth County OPP requesting the person who may have inadvertently taken the deer, thinking it was being thrown out, to return it to the residence. They are also requesting anyone who may have information about the whereabouts of this ornamental deer to contact them at 1-888-310-1122 or to call CRIME STOPPERS at 1-800-222-8477.
