An 86 year-old Owen Sound area woman was taken to hospital following a two vehicle crash in Owen Sound Tuesday afternoon.
Around 1 PM, the woman was driving her 2009 Kia Rio eastbound on 20th Street East. She attempted to turn left onto 28th Avenue East when she was struck by a southbound pick-up truck being driven by a 20 year old Owen Sound man.
The airbags deployed in the Kia, resulting in injuries to the driver. She was subsequently taken to the Grey Bruce Health Services by ambulance, where she was admitted for observation. The woman has been charged with failing to yield under the Highway Traffic Act.
