(MUNICIPALITY OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Monday April 11, 2011 around 2:22 p.m. a Perth County OPP officer was on patrol on Perth Road 101 south of Hwy. 8. The officer observed a red car making an erratic movement on the road. The officer spoke to the driver and detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and subsequently administered a road side breath test. The driver failed this test and was transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment where he also failed Intoxilyzer breath tests.
Stuart Bender (59) of Tavistock was charged with operating a motor vehicle with over 80 mgs. of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. He is set to appear in Stratford Provincial court on May 02, 2011 to answer to this charge. He was also served a 90 day drivers licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
