On March 31st, 2014 at approximately 2:00 am Barrie Police received a 911 call from a resident on Golfdale Road who reported that he heard numerous gunshots fired in the area. Uniform officers, Tactical Officers and Canine Officers were on scene very quickly searching the area for possible suspects and firearms. Canine conducted a track with negative results.
Through evidence examined at the scene Investigators and the Forensic Identification Unit have confirmed that a firearm was used. Shots were fired outside the complex towards number 20 Golfdale Road in the area of the third floor of the building.
At his time the investigation is underway and suspect(s) are unknown. Several witness report hearing shots fired but did not see anyone in the area. There were no injuries to anyone in the complex at the time.
The immediate area of Golfdale Road and Coulter Street is being canvassed and investigators are looking for any information or witness to this incident.
