On April 14, 2014 at 5:30 pm a collision occurred between a tractor/trailer combination and a blue 2007 Toyota Hatchback at the intersection of Hespeler Rd and Maple Grove Rd in the City of Cambridge. The 2003 Freightliner Transport Truck pulling a trailer was south on Hespeler Rd. It was being driven by a 37 year old Bolton man. The Toyota car was north on Hespeler Rd and was driven by a 25 year old Kitchener woman. The Toyota attempted to make a left hand turn onto Maple Grove Rd when it was hit by the truck. The driver of the truck sustained minimal injuries and was treated at the scene of the collision. The woman driving the car sustained life threatening injuries and was transported to a trauma center outside the Region of Waterloo by ambulance. Alcohol was not a factor in the collision.
