On April 15, 2014 at about 11:00 pm a grey 2007 Ford car was travelling northeast on Forestwood Drive in the city of Kitchener. The driver, a 23 year old Kitchener man, lost control of the car which left the roadway and struck a tree. The car was destroyed in the collision. The driver sustained life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. He was then air lifted to a trauma center outside of the Waterloo Region. Forestwood Dr was closed for several hours during the investigation. Speed and alcohol are believed to have been factors in the incident. The Waterloo Regional Police Traffic Services Branch is investigating.
