Shoplifter arrested

On April 16, 2014 at 12:20 p.m., the Guelph Police went to the Walmart on Woodlawn Road to assist with a male observed cutting products out of their packaging. Police located the male and he was arrested. Further investigation determined that he had stolen items on him and that he was on probation. The male was also on a trespass order issued by Walmart.
A 48-year-old Palmerston man has been charged with mischief under $5,000, theft under $5,000 and breach probation. He was also charged with enter premises when entry prohibited under the Trespass to Property Act. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
