(SOUTH BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – The South Bruce OPP received 2 reports of bicycle thefts on April 26th, 2011. The first was from a residence along 1st Avenue South in Chesley, the second was from a residence along Queen Street in Kincardine. The South Bruce OPP is offering bicycle owners the following theft prevention tips:
Always keep your bicycle locked. Even on the porch or in the garage.
Lock both wheels and the frame to a bicycle rack or a sturdy, securely bolted, fixed object.
If you don’t need a quick release seat and wheels, considering replacing with standard bolts.
Always choose a busy, well lit, area when securing your bicycle.
