Jonathan WAGLER – Drunk Driving

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A 27 year old male is facing charges of Drive Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and Having Liquor in Open Container Other than Licensed Premises following a traffic stop last night. Just after 11:30 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers observed a green Toyota travelling northbound on London Road near Crediton Road. As the officers were following the vehicle they spotted what appeared to be a defective exhaust system.

A traffic stop was then conducted to check on the mechanical fitness of the vehicle. Upon speaking with the two occupants officers observed an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle. After further discussion with the driver officers noted he had been drinking alcohol.

A roadside screening test was administered which the driver failed. He was arrested at the scene and transported to the Exeter OPP Detachment for breath tests. He provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician; both tests were over the legal limit.

As a result, Jonathan WAGLER, 27, from South Huron, has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and Having Liquor in Open Container Other than Licensed Premise. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter on June 26, 2014. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
