Traffic disruption & road closures downtown on Thursday

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service would like to advise of traffic disruptions and road closures in the downtown core during the afternoon of Thursday, April 24, 2014 as a demonstration takes place. The demonstration is scheduled to occur from approx. 12:00pm to 4:00pm.

The demonstration will begin on Parliament Hill at 11:00am. Following that, there will be rolling road closures from Wellington Street to Rideau Street.

From 2 – 4 pm, the following road closures will take effect:

Charlotte Street will be closed between Tormey Street and Rideau Street;
Cobourg Street will be closed between Heney Street and Rideau Street;
Heney Street will be closed between Cobourg Street and Wurtemburg Street;
Tormey Street will be closed between Cobourg Street and Charlotte Street; and
Wurtemburg Street will also be closed between Clarence Street and Rideau Street.
Commuters are asked to avoid the area when possible.
