(Municipality of North Perth, ON) – On Wednesday 25 May, 2011 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of Perth County OPP, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence on Barber Avenue, in the Municipality of North Perth, Perth County, Ontario.
The residence was searched. As a result of the execution of the search warrant, police seized cannabis marihuana plants. The estimated combined street value of the controlled substances is $1,300.00. Also seized was offence related property that consisted of growing equipment.
Matthew EVANGELO, age 24 years, of the Municipality of North Perth is charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with production of a controlled substance (marihuana). He has been released on a Promise to Appear and will answer to this charge on July 13, 2011 in Listowel Court.
