Strong Winds Pass Through Southern Bruce County

(SOUTH BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – On June 4th, 2011 at 9:28 am, the South Bruce OPP received a report of property damage near the town of Paisley due to a severe storm and strong winds that passed through the area. Officers conducted a search of the incident area, but found no injuries due to the wind event.

Hydro poles, hydro lines and trees were knocked down by the storm. This has resulted in some area road closures as the roads are physically impassable due to debris. Hydro crews are working to restore power and road crews are working to clear area roadways.

The South Bruce OPP is asking motorists to slow down and be aware that they may encounter debris, closed roads or crews working to repair storm damage in the areas of North Bruce, Paisley, Chesley and Elderslie Township.
