(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On Thursday July 19, 2018 at approximately 1:30 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two vehicle collision on Wellington Road 7, between Salem and Alma. Initial reports indicated that a southbound tractor trailer had collided with a southbound passenger vehicle. The passenger vehicle was stopped and awaiting clearance to pass through a single lane stretch of highway that was under construction.
OPP and Centre Wellington Fire Rescue and Guelph-Wellington Paramedics Service attended. The lone occupant of the passenger vehicle, a 48-year-old Town of Minto woman, was transported to local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Traffic was delayed as a result of the collision.
Upon investigation, 29-year-old Jarrett Jose Keith MEDEIROS of St Thomas was charged with Careless Driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on September 5, 2018.
