(LAKE HURON, ON) – On July 1st, 2011, members of the South Bruce OPP Marine unit were out patrolling the waters of Lake Huron. At 2:10 pm, a vessel was stopped for an equipment inspection and officers noted a deficiency. 53 year old Glen WENDT of Carrick Township received a ticket under the small vessel regulations of the Canada Shipping Act for the safety equipment violation. The South Bruce OPP is reminding all vessel operators to ensure they always have the required safety equipment on board before they sail.
