Bailey Gag Order Extended!

At the previous Council meeting, the Councillors passed a motion to
limit Councillor Bernie Bailey’s right to speak.  This newly
“passed motion” or  “by-law” was to be in effect until Council
drafted and adopted a Code Of Conduct.

At last night’s meeting, the Council admitted that they have not taken
any steps toward creating this Code of Conduct in the last few
weeks.  Since the Council didn’t attempt to draft this Code, Mr.
Bailey’s gag order is still
in effect with the same conditions, for at least a few more weeks.

One would have hoped that the Council would have acted swiftly to lift
these restrictions, allowing Mr. Bailey to communicate effectively with
his constituents.  This inaction leads one to believe that other
Councillors do not consider restoring the Rights of one of our Citizens
as a priority.
