(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Tuesday July 01, 2014, shortly before 1 a.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to a single motor vehicle collision on Road 157, North of Line 89 (north of Listowel).
Upon arrival at the scene, officers determined that the Volkswagen Jetta involved in this crash had been travelling north bound on Road 157 when it left the roadway and struck a hydro pole. The male driver was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and he failed two Intoxilyzer breath tests.
Ryan SWARTZ (26) of the Township of Perth East has been charged with “driving while ability impairedâ€Â, and “driving with more than 80 mgs. of alcohol in bloodâ€Â. He is to appear at the Listowel Court of Justice on August 06, 2014, to answer to these charges. He was issued a 90 day driver’s licence suspension and the vehicle he was operating has been impounded for seven days.
