An off-duty police officer followed a suspected impaired driver on Yonge Street to a local hamburger restaurant. The off-duty police officer then took the keys to the vehicle and contacted Barrie Police Service. An on-duty officer attended and arrested the 54 year old Barrie female for Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle. The woman was transported to the station where she refused to provide a breath sample. She was charged with Refuse to Provide a Breath Sample, her driver’s licence was immediately suspended for 90 days and she was released to a future court date once sober.
