On July 4, 2014 just before 9pm, Waterloo Regional Police and the Cambridge Fire Department responded to a fire on Chalmers St. S in Cambridge. Neighboring homes were evacuated and the street was closed. There was extensive damage to a large shed, fence and neighboring property estimated at $40,000. The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical and not suspicious in nature.
