On July 9th, 2014, an 11 year old Kitchener girl was riding her bicycle on the sidewalk on Westwood Drive in Kitchener when she was struck by a GMC van being driven by a 53 year old Kitchener male. The vehicle was pulling into a driveway on Westwood Drive when the girl was struck. The girl was run over by the vehicle and suffered serious injuries. She was transported to Grand River Hospital and then airlifted to a Hamilton hospital. The investigation is continuing.
