(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – At approximately 2:00 a.m. on July 30, 2011, a Huron OPP officer observed a vehicle swerve between lanes on Bluewater Hwy at Nile Road. The officer conducted a traffic stop and determined the male driver to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the Goderich detachment to meet with a qualified Intoxilizer Technician in order to provide two samples of his breath.
The results of the two tests confirmed that the driver had a blood alcohol level that was above the legal limit of 80 milligrams of alcohol.
As a result of the investigation, Michael JANES (22) of Huron East has been charged with one count of Drive With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He will answer to his charge in the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on September 12, 2011. His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days as per statute.
