Around 2:45 p.m. yesterday afternoon, emergency crews responded to a two vehicle collision on Richmond Street just west of Jeffrey Street in Chatham.
A silver Mazda Protégé was travelling eastbound on Richmond Street when the driver crossed into the westbound lanes and collided head-on with a black Honda Civic. The 40-year-old driver of the Honda was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with non-life-threatening injuries. He was treated and released. The driver of the Mazda was not injured.
Through investigation, the officer learned the man was driving his Mazda erratically on Richmond Street. Khanh TRAN, 64 years, of Peirone Crescent in Chatham has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. He was released with conditions pending a future court date.
