Man Charged with Failing to Comply

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man for failing to comply with his release conditions.

On June 28, 2014, the man was released from custody with several conditions. Two of the conditions stated that he was to obey a daily curfew of 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and not to possess any weapons.

Shortly after 1:00 a.m. this morning, police received information about a possible impaired driver on St. Clair Street in Chatham. Officers located the vehicle and a traffic stop was initiated near Wilson Street. The man did not show any signs of impairment, however he was arrested for disobeying his curfew condition. Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of folding lock blade knife.

Charles Field, 22 years, of Wedgewood Avenue in Chatham has been charged with two counts of failing to comply. He was released with conditions pending a future court date.
