The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man in connection with an incident in Chatham earlier this month.
On July 9, 2014 at approximately 10:00 p.m. a woman on Sandy Street heard a knock at her door. The woman answered the door to find the man standing there. A verbal argument ensued between the pair. Officers were called, however the man fled the area prior to their arrival.
Through investigation, police learned that the man was currently bound by conditions not to communicate with the woman, not to be within 500m of her residence and that he was to remain inside his home unless accompanied by someone approved by his surety.
Yesterday morning, the man was located and arrested. The 32-year-old Chatham man was charged with three counts of failing to comply. He was transported to the courthouse pending a bail hearing.
