(Ottawa) On July 19, 2014 at approximately 3am the Ottawa Police Service stopped a vehicle in the area of Bathgate Drive and Golf Place in the east end of Ottawa. As a result, an Ottawa man was charged for impaired driving as well as being unlawfully in possession of a loaded semi automatic handgun.
Bens THERASSAN (27 years of age) faces numerous firearm and driving offences which include:
store firearm carelessly
posses firearms dangerous to public peace
possess firearm without holding a license
possess firearm knowing not holding a license
posses loaded firearm
posses firearm obtained by crime
impaired driving
THERASSAN was held in custody and will appear in court Sunday morning July 20, 2014.
