On Monday the 21st of July 2014, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service Drug Branch executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence on Oak Street Street, in Cambridge. Drug Branch officers were alerted after patrol officers became suspicious while responding to the residence on Sunday night for a disturbance. On execution of their warrant the Drug Branch members dismantled a marihuana grow operation, and seized 27 marihuana plants, some marihuana bud and marihuana grow equipment. In total, the street value of the drugs seized was $27, 000. A female resident and a male resident face charges of Production and Possession. The female was released on a Promise to Appear and the male was held for a show cause hearing.
