MVC PERSONAL INJURY

On July 21 2014 at approximately 12:15pm the Waterloo Regional Police Service responded to a collision in the city of Waterloo at University Ave W and the railroad crossing between Seagram Dr and Phillip St. The incident involved a 2005 Chevrolet SUV driven by a 31 year old Kitchener woman and a bicycle driven by a 21 year female from Winnipeg. Waterloo Fire and Regional Paramedics attended to the scene to provide medical attention to the cyclist who was struck by the SUV. The cyclist was taken to Grand River Hospital by paramedics for medical attention for injuries received as a result of the collision. The cyclist has been charged riding a bicycle in a crosswalk, an offence under Highway Traffice Act. Waterloo Regional Police Service would like to express gratitude to those citizens that assisted the injured cyclist and assisted police with the investigation.
