Drug arrests made

In the month of July 2014, the Guelph Police Services Drug Enforcement Unit became involved in a marihuana trafficking investigation. A Guelph male was suspected of trafficking bulk amounts of marihuana within Guelph and surrounding areas. On July 24, the investigation led to the arrest of this male. A search subsequent to his arrest discovered two pounds of marihuana. A Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant was then executed at the male’s residence. Police located approximately eight pounds of marihuana, twenty-three grams of cocaine and $1,000 in cash.

A 29-year-old Guelph man has been charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on July 25, 2014.

A 24-year-old Guelph female has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on July 25, 2014.
