Helicopter Severs Hydro Wire

Around 9:00 a.m. this morning, a pilot was spraying a corn field on Mallard Line in Dover Township when the helicopter severed a hydro wire. The pilot landed the aircraft safely and flew away from the scene moments later. A witness to the incident contacted police.

Officers located the pilot, a 26-year-old Saskatchewan man, employed by Zimmer Air Services in Blenheim. The pilot was not physically injured. The helicopter, however sustained a cracked windshield.

The Ministry of Labour and Transport Canada have been contacted. The incident is under investigation.

Mallard Line between Winterline Road and Big Pointe Road remains closed as Hydro One repairs the hydro line.
