The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a Chatham couple in connection with providing a false report to police.
On July 26, 2014, police attended an apartment on Taylor Avenue in regards to an assault complaint. At this time, the man reported that he had been pushed by neighbours and as a result sustained an injury to his hip. His wife stated that she witnessed the confrontation.
Police spoke with the neighbours who provided a conflicting story and denied that the assault occurred. Through investigation, police reviewed video surveillance which confirmed that the incident did not transpire as the couple had reported nor was the man injured.
Last night, police arrested the couple at their home. Paul and Paula Bussey, both 58 years of Taylor Avenue in Chatham have been charged with Public Mischief. They were both released with conditions pending a future court date.
