(Ottawa) The Ottawa Police Service is investigating a stabbing that took place in the 0 to 100 block of Cartier Street early this morning.
At 1:20 am, patrol officer responded to a 911 call regarding an altercation between two males. A 28 year old male victim was located suffering from critical injuries as a result of a stabbing and was rushed to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. Through a quick response at scene by Ottawa Paramedics and treatment at the hospital, the victim’s condition, was upgraded to stable condition. The victim remains in hospital.
A 21 year old man was arrested soon after. He is currently in police custody. Charges are pending.
The Major Crime Section took carriage of the investigation due to the initial serious nature of the injuries and will continue with the investigation.
