Robberies – Escorts

Over the past weekend, three robberies were reported to the London Police Service where female escorts were targeted and robbed. One female received minor injuries. Each of the women attended a different address after someone called in response to their ads posted on a website.

The London Police Service is committed to providing a safe and secure community and feel it is important for women engaged in escort services to be aware of these incidents.

On Sunday, August 3, 2014 two robberies were reported, one at 10:53 a.m. and the other at 7:14 p.m. The third robbery was reported on Monday, just before midnight.

As a result of the investigation, Thomas Lako (22) and Amar Youssef (20), both of London, were arrested on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 and have been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
– Robbery, contrary to section 343(b);
– Two counts of armed robbery, contrary to section 343(d);
– Two counts of assault with a weapon, contrary to section 267(a);
– Two counts of weapons dangerous, contrary to section 88(1); and
– Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a).

Amar Youssef is also further being charged with another count of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) and possess prohibited weapon, contrary to section 92(2) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
