On August 8th 2014, at approximately 6pm, Waterloo Regional Police were dispatched to an altercation involving a cyclist and a driver of a motor vehicle at the intersection of King Street and Frederick Street, Kitchener. The investigation revealed that a cyclist, a 52 year old male, had been assaulted by the driver following a verbal dispute. The cyclist received minor injuries from the assault. The involved driver fled the scene in his motor vehicle, driving along a side walk and through a red light. A 25 year old male was charged with Assault, Breach of Probation and Dangerous Driving and held for a bail hearing.
