On Sunday August 10, 2014 at approximately 10:56am, a collision between two vehicles occurred at the intersection of Connaught Street and Eighth Avenue in Kitchener. A minivan operated by a 29 year old Kitchener man was travelling northbound on Eighth Avenue. The van entered the intersection and collided with an eastbound car operated by a 54 year old Kitchener woman. A 5 year old girl was ejected from the van as a result of the impact and is being treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Two children in the van were also transported to hospital. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who witnessed this collision is asked to contact the Waterloo Regional Police Traffic Branch at 519-650-8500 extension 8856.
