Occurrence #: BA14-038265
Date: Tuesday, August 12, 2014 – 7:00pm
On the 12th of August 2014 at approximately 7pm, Barrie police responded to a call to an area just north of the downtown in regards to an unwanted male. The male was known to the complainant but was not welcome on the premise. Police were able to identify the male prior to arrival and revealed information that the male was currently on charges with conditions not to consume alcohol.
Upon police arrival it didn’t take officers long to realize he was not welcome on the property due to his intoxicated state. As officers attempted to effectively arrest the male for breaching his conditions he began acting in an aggressive manner and was resisting the officers. Officers struggled with the male at which time the male attempted to pull his arms away and escape the grasp of the arresting officers. The male continued in his aggressive state at which time one officer utilized his OC (Pepper) Spray to gain compliance of the male. The male continued to fight with the officers but they were finally able to gain control of the male and place him in handcuffs.
As a result, a 19 year old Barrie male now faces charges of failing to comply with probation, failing to comply with an undertaking and assault with the intent to resist arrest. The officers were not injured as a result of the incident and the male accused was held pending a bail hearing.
